Dec 1 - I can't believe all these months have gone by without me updating this blog. But I guess there's no time like the present. What's been happening since last time we spoke? Alot and not much at all. In July I got laid off from my day job. A few weeks after I was fortunate enough to have my entire catalogue picked up in a bona fide music library. I've had lots of nibbles and the music has been heard by quite a number of music supervisors. No bites yet, but I'm hopeful.
One of my creative impulses that I've held back on for a long time is that of being an author. A long time ago, before my songwriting days, I had published one childrens book and had a single short story published in a literary magazine as well as a "Best of" anthology. During the time I was recording HotDogs I was thinking I'd maybe set about taking up the pen again. So here I am, coming up for air on Dec 1 after hunkering down all of November, I was able to knock out the first 150 pages or so of my second attempt at a novel. The goal is a roughly 300 page manuscript, first draft completed.
I promise that I'm not quitting music, far from it. I have slated for the near future an upcoming instrumental EP, and I am going to start an online guitar course. I'm still thinking of how that's going to look, but I'll post updates about in here and in my emails.
