Dec 1 - I can't believe all these months have gone by without me updating this blog. But I guess there's no time like the present. What's been happening since last time we spoke? Alot and not much at all. In July I got laid off from my day job. A few weeks after I was fortunate enough to have my entire catalogue picked up in a bona fide music library. I've had lots of nibbles and the music has been heard by quite a number of music supervisors. No bites yet, but I'm hopeful.
One of my creative impulses that I've held back on for a long time is that of being an author. A long time ago, before my songwriting days, I had published one childrens book and had a single short story published in a literary magazine as well as a "Best of" anthology. During the time I was recording HotDogs I was thinking I'd maybe set about taking up the pen again. So here I am, coming up for air on Dec 1 after hunkering down all of November, I was able to knock out the first 150 pages or so of my second attempt at a novel. The goal is a roughly 300 page manuscript, first draft completed.
I promise that I'm not quitting music, far from it. I have slated for the near future an upcoming instrumental EP, and I am going to start an online guitar course. I'm still thinking of how that's going to look, but I'll post updates about in here and in my emails.

April 25 and the new release is starting to percolate through the digital world, a mere molecule of music swimming in a vast and seemingly infinite ocean of songs and rhythms. We are so lucky this day and age to have such easy access to music from everywhere in the world, seemingly at the touch of a button.

The track "Cold November" has been gaining a bit of notice, its being playing now SMRadio out of Milan,Italy!  To listen to SMradio connect to the link www.silvermusicradio.it Sundays  4-6pm (Italy time).
The added it to their Spotify Playlist SMRadio-Groover as well, if you can't wake up in the middle of the night to tune into the radio station.
The good folks over at IndieValleyMusic.com wrote  “ "Cold November" is a standout piece that demonstrates great skill and dedication in music production.”
Cold November can now be a heard on the IndieValleyMusic Spotify playlist too. Its a very big playlist so you might be listening for awhile before it crops up.
Things are looking bright, stay tuned for more good news and reviews in the coming weeks.

Its April 9th and a today Im announcing the official release of my album Hotdogs and Chardonnay.  I hemmed an hawed forever about whether to release this as a series of singles, or a full album.  I decided on the second option because I conceived and curated this set of songs as just that - a “set” , just as if I were playing a live set.  So, after many delays and workarounds I finally have this up on my website and all the streaming platforms. I'm finalizing the album design this week and will be ordering a small batch of CDs shortly after. And….drum roll please…I plan on actually starting to play out live again after a couple year hiatus! There will be an offical CD release event in early June. Stay tuned, in the meantime, I hope you enjoy the new album. It features Brad Morse on bass, Enion Pelta-Tiller on strings, Keith Summers played banjo on “Sitting at the Bar on a Monday” , Pamala Machala added keys to “Cold November” and Mad Dog Freidman played harmonica on “Dem Bones”.

Here we are into the end of November. I've gotten feedback on the mixes and am getting ready to send them out to the mixing engineer. YAY!
I'm planning on releasing this record one single at a time, every 4-6 weeks. The plan is to produce a video at the same time, new artwork for each song , a show and digital release. When I'm near the end, next fall, I will have an actual record “Release” at which point physical media will be available for purchase.  Not alot of folks even listen to CDs anymore so I'm probably only going to order a handful, as well as a handful of actual real deal vinyl records.
I'll keep you posted.
In the meantime, happy thanksgiving.

Hi Dee HO everyone!

Welcome to my new website. The old one was out of date and I found the platform unwieldy. Please feel free to offer any feedback on the site, navigation or layout or anything. Its all easy to change.

Whats new other than my website?

Well, I finally finished my first album, “Hotdogs and Chardonnay”. Its a great little portrait of Dan Harris music, there are 13 songs inspired from places and people from my upbringing in Vermont, and tunes I've written since I've moved away from the rain and grey skies of New…
